The Lakelands Southern Gospel Music Association is an organization that we joined a few months back. We joined with this group of fine people to help expand our exposure in the industry and to allow us different avenues of furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This association is dedicated to Southern Gospel Music and our Saviour Jesus Christ. They believe the performance of Southern Gospel Music to be a ministry that knows no boundaries such as denomination, race, financial, or personal prejudice.
The association has many events scheduled throughout the year in many different locations across the area. (See our Concert date page to see the scheduled singings). I want to explain what the events consist of to allow you to understand what to expect when you visit.
There are two different types of singings:
The "Traditional" style singings will consist of approximately eight different groups and/or soloists, each performing about 20 minutes each. These are really a blessing and you will come away truly blessed.
The "Homecoming" style singings get their name and format from The Gaither Homecoming singings that most everyone has seen on TV and in person.
All groups and soloists that are available on the designated evenings will gather and sing in a mass choir many of your favorite hymns and other songs, then each soloist or group will perform one or two "spotlight" songs during the evening. These have become very popular as it give a broad variety of the different sounds within the association.
Again we are very excited to be associated with such a great group of devoted and talented christians. You owe it to yourself to attend these singings whenever possible. I am confident that you will recieve a blessing from these singings.
